Maine Alliance for Road Associations
Good morning...We just joined the Alliance. We have a question for the Alliance's lawyer. How do we contact her?
Welcome to MARA! We have no lawyer. Depending on your question, you might find an answer by asking it on our Discussion Forum.
Attorneys Mary Denison, Winthrop, and John Cunningham, Brunswick, have great experience with private road association law. You might contact them.
I agree. We are not attorneys and therefor cannot give legal advice or interpret law. However, depending on what the question is, if you search the forum you may find other people who have asked a similar question, and perhaps others who have suggested solutions.
Or, if it's just a matter of knowing where to look to find the laws that apply to your situation, we may be able to steer you in the right direction. Many answers are found in the statutes themselves if you read them carefully. For example, here's a link to the laws that govern "statutory" road associations.
Clicking on the arrow at the top right hand corner of that page will let you scroll through the several road association statutes that follow - 23 MRS 3101 - 3106.
Does that help?
Attorneys Mary Denison and John Cunningham will be speaking at the MARA conference on Saturday, October 1 and will be taking questions.
Please join us. Details are on the events page of the MARA website.
Thomas, Erin - So sorry to disappoint you, but registrations for the conference are closed. We need a bit of time to make sure everything is set ahead of time, and cannot ask our audio visual expert to make last minute changes while getting his equipment set up.
