“Gravel Road Maintenance and Water Quality ”: by John Maclaine, Non-Point Source Training Center Coordinator, Department of Environmental Protection.
“Legal Aspects of Running Private Road Associations”: by Attorneys Mary Denison of Lake & Denison, Winthrop, Maine, and Jim Katsiaficas of Perkins Thompson, Portland, Maine. They will present on topics related to the Private Ways Statutes, 23 M. R. S. §§3101-3104 including recent Statutory revisions, formation, and current operation of non-profit and statutory road associations.
“Insurance Matters for Private Road Associations”: by Danielle Marquis, Account Executive Commercial Lines, a licensed Independent Insurance Agent with 27 years’ experience.
Registration and Attendance:
Safety and comfort for attendees at Maple Hill Farm Conference Center is paramount. The Gathering Place is Maple Hill's newest and largest space complete with state of the art audio and video facilities, lots of natural light (or room-darkening curtains) and a great view, a soaring ceiling, unique lighting, and a large fireplace.
MARA has decided to limit attendance to 35 in-person attendees plus the 4 Speakers and the A-V person. This number may be changed based on registration numbers.
AV Portland will provide a professional virtual experience that will allow for ample presenter/audience interaction by both in-person and virtual attendees.
All Register online, on Events Page. Full payment only, no partial payments.
MARA members only: each $30.00
Guests (non-members): $40.00
Late registration for Members is $40 and for Guests is $50.00 after August 31, 2025.
No cancellations or refunds after August 31, 2025 except we reserve the right to cancel the conference due to unknown circumstances up until Wednesday, October 1, 2025. If it becomes necessary to cancel the event, all registration fees will be promptly returned.
