The guy that has held it together since 1975 would like to bow out. I am the only one who indicated an interest . We live part time  at the end of the road.  What makes this more interesting is that 18 acres of  land adjoining ours went on the market and we bought it to conserve it.
Fortunately/unfortunately the entire road (about 20 houses along it) was part of the deal.

We are near Augusta and I would like to hire someone with excellent references to “manage “ the association . There are only 3 full timers on the road.

Any suggestions, comments would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you, Ivan

I suggest you and 2 other owners of different parcels along the road make application to a notary to call a meeting and form a statutory road association using the Private Ways Statute, 23 MRS §§3101-3104. Roberta Manter's "Warrant for First Meeting" on our Resources Page may be helpful.

As to running your new association, the formative process may stimulate new interest and camaraderie among the owners. It's cheaper and much more vested to have owners decide and administer road maintenance needs. The time commitment can be quite manageable and fun when shared. It's helpful to have at least one full-time resident --you have three.
