Town compensation for public easements

Some towns provide private ways (a private road WITH public easement) compensation to associations and some don't. In example, Windham provides winter maintenance (snow plowing and sanding roads). I have heard that some other towns provide monetary assistance. What are the towns in Maine that provide you with any tangible or monetary assistance?

I would love to hear about any towns that are doing this!  I'd also like to know about any towns besides Windham that are taking the Title 23 section 3105-A option and establishing public easements over private roads so that they can provide snow removal.  I know there are other towns that do, but it would be useful to know which ones, or how many.

What I hear about more through Maine ROADWays are situations where a town owns property on a road that is maintained by a road association, and the public uses the road to reach that property (whether a boat launch, conservation land, or whatever,) and the town contributes nothing towards the cost of road maintenance.
