Maine Alliance for Road Associations
Access to our lakefront camps is via a right-of-way over private property. The property owner would like to sell us the right-of-way for a nominal amount. I question whether a statutory association like ours that we reform every year can be a property-owning entity. Does anyone have experience or knowledge of this type of situation?
Statutory road associations no longer need to re-form annually. The law changed in 2009 to permit road associations to exist until dissolved by a vote of the membership.
