I think the amount depends on the needs of the road, which can vary enormously, but if you would like to ask the full membership to reply, please draft a letter to them and I will forward it. I think it would be best if you encouraged them to reply anonymously. You should probably ask them to include what the length of the road is and to break down the expenses -- repair, maintenance, plowing, other.... The information might be useful to the whole membership. If enough people replied I could draft a report with averages, etc. that could be posted.
