Our road association found an excellent source to repair potholes on a section of our paved roads. It's called Aquaphalt. It uses water to seal it. Here's the link for more information:

    http://www.aquaphalt.com/aquaphalt_in_action.php

Consumer reports test results found it to be the best. Here's the video link testing it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dn5lMtJWxCs

It comes with a 3 year guarantee.  This means less volunteer work, time and expense over the years of constantly repairing the potholes. It costs a bit more but it's definitely worth it.

    Margaret,

Thank you for sharing this information. I did not know this product was available with a water base - sounds easy to manage.

Fun fact:  You can use this material in the WINTER! Yes, very shocking to imagine pot hole repair can even be done in the winter.

Also you can get a supply of it at any store; Lowes, Home Depot and some other hardware stores.

For those who just want to click the link: Here's the company's link and consumer reports youtube video, proving that it's the best:

Thanks for this information!  Another tactic we've been able to use sometimes is that when someone on the road is having their driveway paved, we ask if they can have the paver fill in a nearby pot hole while he is there, and the Association will pay for it.  That has worked for us two or three times, and either the contractor or the homeowner has declined to pass the cost on to the road association.  It's no big deal since they are right there already, and the material they are using is way better than what you can ordinarily get for patch material.  But if you  have a hole that needs patching and no one in the area is having a driveway paved, this Aquaphalt definitely sounds worth looking into.
