Because MARA Member Roberta Manter will never toot her own horn, I wanted to let people know that she will be speaking on this topic at Common Ground this Sunday September 22 at the Livestock Speakers tent at 1:00 pm.  Riding horses or 4-wheelers Roberta ?

Because I'm giving this talk in the Livestock Speakers' tent, my primary topic is horseback riding - but I'll probably touch on ATV's as well, and the impact they can have on trails.

For the last few years I've done a talk on Abandoned and Discontinued Roads in the Homestead Speakers' Tent, because these roads can be a great place to set up a homestead.  It has always been well-received -  I often get more people for that presentation than I do for some of my horse care and training talks.  But the Homestead tent doesn't have audio visual capability, and the Livestock tent does.  (Besides, the Livestock people have a bigger budget, and offer a stipend for talks in their tent!)  So I thought I'd put a different slant on the presentation and try one over there.

I'm also doing one more like my usual talks, on Problems and Solutions for Abandoned and Discontinued Roads.  But I'm not sure how many people will find me - they've moved me to the Rail Car venue, which mostly does Yoga!

Anyway, if anyone is going to be at Common Ground Fair and wants to hear either of my presentations, I'll be in the Rail Car at 5:00 on Saturday, and in the Livestock Speakers' Tent at 1:00 on Sunday.  (If for any reason you want to find me at other times, I have several talks in the Livestock Tent, and my daughter is also speaking there on Chicken First Aid, so I'll be there a good part of the day.)

Thanks, Mary, for blowing a horn for me!
